Made For You by Melissa Marr

Hi guys! So I'm going to do a book review that I read and want to share it with you guys!

I gave it 4.5/ 5 stars

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
When Eva Tilling wakes up in the hospital, she’s confused—who in her sleepy little North Carolina town could have hit her with their car? And why? But before she can consider the question, she finds that she’s awoken with a strange new skill: the ability to foresee people’s deaths when they touch her. While she is recovering from the hit-and-run, Nate, an old flame, reappears, and the two must traverse their rocky past as they figure out how to use Eva’s power to keep her friends—and themselves—alive. But while Eva and Nate grow closer, the killer grows increasingly frantic in his attempt to get to Eva.

Review:
This book is just so mysterious, intense and a really fun read! When I was reading it, I can find myself being out of breath, gripping the book tightly and nearly falling out of my seat whenever something was about to happen! I really love mystery and thrilling story!

What I liked about this book:
I love the plot that was in this book, it just feels so realistic, like this actually happened before, but it didn't. I like how the author actually makes an effort in developing the characters even though this is a stand alone book, making you fall in love with each and every character, which doesn't usually happen for stand alone books!
When I was reading this book, I really went all out by reading carefully each and every sentence to find any clues that could lead me to finding out to who the 'Judge'/killer in this book. Which could be one of the reason why I took such along time to actually read this book. Turns out, the person that I was predicting wasn't the 'Judge' at all! It was someone who I totally didn't think of. I was just so shocked when I found out and I was so amazed that Melissa Marr was able to write such an amazing story!
Some scenes just makes me cringed while reading, especially when it was in the 'Judge's' perspective, Most of the time, I was just so freaked out by the way the 'Judge' was thinking. It was just so illogical, yet he thinks that what he thought was right and like it was the only way to deal with the things. I just don't get him most of the time.
I loved Nate so much, the way he cared so much for his younger brother, and he was just so sweet with Eva at some parts of the story, making squeal whenever I read their conversations.

What I dislike about this book:
The ending. It was just so brief and it felt like it was trying to end it quickly. It left me feeling detached from the characters, without saying 'goodbyes' to them. I wanted it to be more detailed with more information about the characters and what they felt about the whole situation.

I would have given it 5/5 stars before I read the ending because the writing was just amazing, everything was so neat and the plot was really captivating! However, the ending could have been better, but it wasn't what I actually expected, thus I gave it a 4.5 stars!

If you guys love Fantasy, Mystery, Paranormal, Thriller, Contemporary, with some Romance in it, this is the right book to pick up!

Classic Christmas Cinema Book Tag

Hey guys! It's Christmas here! Or maybe it's Christmas Eve for some of you guys. But nonetheless, I just want to wish you guys a Merry Christmas! :D Now let's get on with this tag and celebrate Christmas!
So I saw this tag on a blog and wanted to do it! Without further ado, let's get started with the questions!

1. Elf : Choose a book that puts you in the Christmas mood
I just started reading My True Love Gave To Me and I am already into the Christmas mood! :)

2. It's a Wonderful Life: Choose a book with a character who goes through some serious character development.
Well, I have to go with Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy for this one. She has went through such a major character development in each and every book where she learnt from all of her mistakes, which makes her such an amazing person she is now.

3. Christmas Carol: Choose a book/series with a character you didn't like at first but grew to love.
I didn't like Eleanor from Eleanor&Park by Rainbow Rowell, but after I finished reading it, I came to really like her, after knowing what she went through and everything.

4. Home Alone: Choose a book where the parents aren't present and if they are, they aren't such a good influence.
I am going with Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma. Their father abandoned all of them to find another woman, leaving their mother to take care of all the children. However, their mother is a drunk addict which leaves the two oldest children, Lochan and Maya, to take care of the other younger children. Which is when something really bad happens... (This is why you need parents around to keep an eye of everything!)

5. Frosty the Snowman: Find a book with a snowy cover.
Does snowflakes count? If yes, I am going with Let It Snow! There are three snowflakes on the cover. Very snowy right? (pun intended XD)

6. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer: Choose a protagonist you couldn't help but root for.
Daniel Wing aka Day from the Legend trilogy.

7. Polar Express: Find a book where characters travel somewhere cold.
City of Glass when the characters were going to Idris and they said it was going to be really cold there. This counts right?

8. How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Choose a villain you couldn't help but love.
Ooooh, this is a tough question! I guess Dimitri from the Vampire Academy. (You will only know why once you read far enough in the whole series ;) not spoiling you guys here!)

9. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: Choose a character with a goofy sense of humor.
Augustus Waters from The Fault In Our Stars. Do I even need to explain why?

10. Lifetime/ Hallamark movie: Choose a book with the cheesiest romance.
I think Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire is actually quite cheesy at some parts of the story. Though there are a lot of drama in this book, it is actually quite cheesy with their conversations and everything.

All righty then. that is all for this tag. I'm so sorry for not posting for such a long time! But don't worry, more future posts will be coming soon! So stay tuned! Until then, have fun reading this Christmas guys! Muacks! XD

Tag: Question About Books

Hello guys! Back with... Another book tag!!! I found this tag online, so let's begin!

1.What is your favourite book?
Currently, it would be Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier. My all time favourite book would be Twilight :)

2. Who is your favourite author?
- Jennifer L. Armentrout
-Cassandra Clare
-Rainbow Rowell

3. What genre do you prefer?
-Historical fiction
-Sci-Fi
-Contemporary

4. What is your favourite book series?
-Twilight
-Mythos Academy
-The Infernal Devices

5. What books did you hate reading in school?
Those magazines that my school gave us every month and we were forced to read it and have a quiz on it! -_-||| That's not the right way to make us read, school, so stop forcing it on us!

6. What is the first book you remember reading as a child?
James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl, read it for school in 3rd grade I think.

7. Bookstores or libraries?
If it's where I can get books, I would go for libraries, they always have all the books that my local bookstores don't have and you can read it for free!
However, if it's whether I want to work in a bookstore or a library, I would work in a library...  XD Libraries all the way!! Woo!

8. How many books do you own?
Counting only English books (I have chinese books but let's not count that), I have 63 books.

9. Do you read before bed?
I will read before bed if I have school tomorrow so I will doze off much more quickly. However, since I'm having my holidays now, I actually watch videos or read mangas(japanese comics) before going to sleep.

10. What is your most comfortable reading position?
Hmm, Comfortable? Reading position? I don't think that ever goes together. They are like water and oil which don't mix together, AT ALL... However, my reading position will be lying on the ground with a HUGE pillow to lay on. It is only comfortable for the first 5 minutes, after that, I will be like a worm and squirm around trying to find another reading position.

11. What is the most recent book you've read?
The last book that I have finished reading would be Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier.

12. What quote from any book will you never forget and why?
“It was books that made me feel that perhaps I wasn't completely alone." from The Infernal Devices, said by Will Herondale (you know how much I love him) and this is just so true.

13. Science Fiction or Fantasy?
Science Fiction

14. What books do you regret reading?
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, not sure why, but I just wasn't able to get into the writing style as well as the situation in the book. It was really confusing with the jumping of the POV and the time.

15. How large is your bookshelf?
My bookshelf is quite big (in my opinion). It is connected to my bed and it has three long rows (the length of a bed). The first row is just empty and you can stack anything from the start of the bed to the end of it. The second row, it has a long box at the start, three smaller box in the middle, and a long box again at the end. The third row has three long boxes. Confused? Can't picture what I am saying? Don't worry, here's a picture to show you guys!

16. On average, how many books do you read per year?
It actually all depends on how busy I am each year. Like last year, I manage to read 35 books, not a lot, I know, but I was busy with school work trying to get the subjects I wanted with my results so I was busy. And this year, I currently only read 24 books and it's because I have school work, homework, tests, exams, long hour of school as well as extra curriculum, I couldn't even squeeze out an hour to read! So it would really depends :)

17. What book can you read hundreds of times and never get tired of?
Twilight. Do not judge me :) *innocent smile*

18. Do you like to read outside?
Yes, but I love the comfort of my home much much more.

19. What is the biggest lesson you've learned from a book?
That vampires, are the HOTTEST creature. :)

20. Of the past year, what is the greatest book you've read?
Once again, Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier.
And also Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

And that is all for this tag! I hope you guys enjoy it, and another post will be up soon on my blog! Stay tune and enjoy! Have a great time reading this week guys! Bye! Muacks! XD

December'14 TBR

WOOO DECEMBER IS HERE! XMAS, CHRISTMASY! It's time for me to decide my TBR for this month! Are you excited? Oh boy, am I super excited for this month's reading!

So, I borrowed loads of books a few weeks ago and a few days ago, and all of those books have to be returned by this month or next month, so it's time to marathon all the books that I borrowed all in this month and try to finish it before the due date! (This will be a hard reading month...)

OH and I am now one book short of my reading goal. Only managed to catch up on October, so in 3 months time, this amount of books that I read is pretty good, considered that exams and loads of stress I have during these three months.
So I have read 24 out of 25 books, I might be pushing up my goal, since I have at least 10 books to read this month. :)

Okay, enough of this rambling, so let's get started with my December TBR!

As said earlier, I have 10 books that I want to read, so I will be showing you the books one by one first, and then I will give you an overview picture of all the books!

First of all, I will be reading: Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins!
I am already currently reading it, and I am at page 70, and Kaidan is just so hot and mysterious!
Synopsis:

Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?
This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Next, I will be reading the sequel, Sweet Peril also by Wendy Higginsof course.
Synopsis:

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.
When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

I will be reading The Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason next! I'm still at page 70 ._.
Synopsis:

Evaline Stoker and Mina Holmes never meant to get into the family business. But when you’re the sister of Bram and the niece of Sherlock, vampire hunting and mystery solving are in your blood. And when two society girls go missing, there’s no one more qualified to investigate.

Now fierce Evaline and logical Mina must resolve their rivalry, navigate the advances of not just one but three mysterious gentlemen, and solve murder with only one clue: a strange Egyptian scarab. The stakes are high. If Stoker and Holmes don’t unravel why the belles of London society are in such danger, they’ll become the next victims.

Number 4, I will be listening to a novella. It came out sometime this year and I didn't want to buy the book since my collection is in paperback, but currently this novella only has hardback. And this audiobook is... The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (an Eclipse novella) by Stephanie Meyer. I finished the Twilight saga 3 years ago, so hopefully I can remember the events that had happened...
Synopsis:

Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes, and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had a relentless thirt for blood...life before she became a vampire.

All Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attention to yourself, and above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn't know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out.
Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they only know as her. As they come to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trust. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth?

The fifth book is Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. Came out earlier this year in April, can't wait to finally read it!
Synopsis:

Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper's destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of an ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts.

Just when life can't get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she's charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper's least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him—and discovers that David's own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.
(It sounds so cool, can't wait to read this soon!)

Next, I am going to read Made For You by Melissa Marr. (Again, the synopsis sounds really cool *Squeals like a mad fangirl* XD)
Synopsis:

Number 7, (this is a really huge book), and this is Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson.
Synopsis:

A princess must find her place in a reborn world.

She flees on her wedding day.
She steals ancient documents from the Chancellor's secret collection.
She is pursued by bounty hunters sent by her own father.
She is Princess Lia, seventeen, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan.
The Kingdom of Morrighan is steeped in tradition and the stories of a bygone world, but some traditions Lia can't abide. Like having to marry someone she's never met to secure a political alliance.
Fed up and ready for a new life, Lia flees to a distant village on the morning of her wedding. She settles in among the common folk, intrigued when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deceptions swirl and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—secrets that may unravel her world—even as she feels herself falling in love.

(I heard so many good things about this book, so again, I can't wait to start reading this book!)

Next, I will be reading Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter. I can't wait to get started with this book! (I would really like to drop what I am reading now just to read that book, but then time does not go well with my thinking because of the due dates :( *sobs* )
Synopsis:

She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.
Her father was right. The monsters are real….
To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….
I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently.
I'd tell my sister no.
I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad.
I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words.
Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time.
I'd tell them I love them.
I wish... Yeah, I wish.

Now we are at number 9, I will be reading Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout, I CAN'T wait to read this! It is the last installment for the Lux series. That cliff-hangar in Origin just killed me, I really need to read this and see how it will ends!
Synopsis: (It will be the first book, because since this is the fifth book, the details in the fifth synopsis might spoil you.)

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.

You can check out this link for the synopsis of Opposition.
Warning: Click only if you want to get spoiled if you haven't finish reading the first four books :)

And last but not least, we have finally reached number 10! Since this is the holiday season, with all the Christmas festive going around (although my family don't celebrate Christmas *pouts* and there is no snow in my country *trying not to cry*) but to get my mood up, I will be reading... My True Love Gave To Me: Twelve Holiday Stories!!! This book is written by TWELVE authors, and edited by Stephanie Perkins :) The twelve authors are:
1. Stephanie Perkins, 2. Holly Black, 3. Ally Carter, 4. Gayle Forman, 5. Jenny Han, 6. David Levithan, 7. Kelly Link, 8. Myra McEntire, 9. Matt de la Pena, 10. Rainbow Rowell, 11. Laini Taylor, 12. Kiersten White
CHECK OUT THE SIDES!!! <3

Sadly there is no synopsis...
However, if you love the holiday season, romance, cute fluffy contemporary, all those holiday TV specials, then you will LOVE this book, so you should check this out!

So many books! WOOO!

All right, that is all for this month's TBR.
VERY AMBITIOUS, but NOT impossible :) So I will try and see how much I can read this month and try and maybe finish all these books!

Okay, another post will be up soon, so stay tuned for that! Until then, happy reading this month guys! Muacks! XD
