September Wrap Up!

End of September is here already! Time is just passing by so fast! Sigh, well at least I managed to get some reading done during my one week term break at the start of September!

If you have been following my "Friday Reads", you will know which book I have finished! But if you haven't, then continue reading!!  :D

1. On the first day of my Sept term break, I finished reading Forever Song by Julie Kagawa.
I give this book a rating of 4.5 !   I took away 0.5 stars because I wasn't really satisfied with the ending of the book as well as how Zeke appeared in this book. But other than that, I enjoyed it very much!
If you want to know about this book, you can check my previous post "Friday Reads #5 " or you can also click on the URL! http://seahyouying.blogspot.sg/2014/08/friday-reads.html which has the synopsis of the first book, since I don't want to spoil those who have not already read it. :)

2. In the middle of my term break, I finished reading Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout!
This book deserves a full 5! I actually flew through this book in 2 days, maybe 3 if you count the hours up. I was so hooked into this book and could not put it down at all! Made me sit on the edge of my seat every time I begin to pick it up and read it! ??I really love the plot, and made me so intrigued and I really couldn't guess who this "Shadowman" was!! Love it so much! If you want to know about the synopsis, you can go to my previous post "Friday Reads #6" or you can also click on the URL! http://seahyouying.blogspot.sg/2014/09/friday-reads-6.html

September Library Haul #2

Hi guys! I am back with another Library haul this month! Went to the library on Friday and got some pretty amazing books!

Ready to see it?

Tada!

Here's a closer look at the books mentioned!
'Between the Spark and the Burn'
April Genevieve Tucholke
'Panic'
Lauren Oliver

'The Book Thief'
Markus Zusak
'The Night Circus'
Erin Morgenstern
So, first of all, I went to get Between the Spark and the Burn by April Genevieve Tucholke!
I read the first book 'Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea' last October and really love it! So I can't wait to continue my adventure with this duology!

Secondly, I saw Panic by Lauren Oliver sitting there, waiting for me to go get it, so naturally, my body moved towards that book and grab it *unconsciously* XD

Thirdly, I couldn't find this book anywhere in the YA (Young adult) section (I thought it was considered as a YA book), so I went to check the system and found out that this book was actually considered an Adult fiction! :O And this book is... The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern! It had kind of a high rating of 4 in Goodreads, so I am pretty excited to start reading this!

Finally, I was walking around in the Adult section when I laid my eyes upon this book. I kind of fangirled at that moment... That book is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! Pretty pumped to begin reading this book. There are mixed reviews from the people around me, so I am not sure if it's a good book, but I shall see for myself. However, Goodreads has a high rating of 4.36 for this book! So again, I am also quite excited about this book! Hope I can enjoy it, although my knowledge of history isn't that good at all.

Here's a synopsis for any of you who are interested in the books mentioned above! :D

1. Between the Spark and the Burn: Freddie once told me that the Devil created all the fear in the world.
But then, the Devil once told me that it's easier to forgive someone for scaring you than for making you cry.
The problem with River West Redding was that he'd done both to me.

The crooked-smiling liar River West Redding, who drove into Violet's life one summer day and shook her world to pieces, is gone. Violet and Neely, River's other brother, are left to worry—until they catch a two a.m. radio program about strange events in a distant mountain town. They take off in search of River but are always a step behind, finding instead frenzied towns, witch hunts, and a wind-whipped island with the thrum of something strange and dangerous just under the surface. It isn't long before Violet begins to wonder if Neely, the one Redding brother she thought trustworthy, has been hiding a secret of his own . . .

2. Panic: Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.
Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.
Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn't know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.
For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.

3.The Night Circus: The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.

4. The Book Thief: It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery.
Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids - as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement before he is marched to Dachau.

That's all for this post! Hope you guys enjoy reading it.
Until then, have a great time reading! Muacks! XD

Late Friday Reads #7

Hi guys! Friday is here again! What are you guys reading this weekend? Here's what I am reading this weekend!!

'Pulled Under' by Michelle Dalton! A Sixteenth Summer novel!!

Here's a synopsis if you guys want to know about it!

In the small town of Pearl Beach, Florida, Izzy Lucas needs only her surfboard and the water to be completely happy. She wants nothing to do with parties, popularity contests, or showing her face around the clichéd touristy hangouts. Izzy’s tight group of coworkers at the local surf shop have tried relentlessly to break shy Izzy out of her (sea)shell. But Izzy isn’t interested…until the day Ben Barker walks into the store.

Ben’s from the city. He’s cute, charming, and wants her help adjusting to beach town culture. As the weeks of surfing lessons and pizza shack visits fly by, Izzy and Ben realize their attraction goes beyond mere friendship. But Ben is only in town for three months, and Izzy wonders if this amazing guy is worth stepping out of her comfort zone for what might be the perfect summer romance—or her first heartbreak.

I can't wait to read some mushy-mushy lovey-dovey contemporary reads this weekend!

I hope you guys have a fun time reading this weekend and I hope you guys enjoy yourself!
Until next time! Muacks! XD

Friday Reads #6

Hi guys! Friday is here again! So here's an update on what I am going to be reading this month. It is Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout! I'm only about 30 pages in, and it is just so intriguing!! I really want to know what is going to happen in the end! Also, if you guys didn't already know, I will be moving this weekend so I'm not really sure how much I can read this weekend, but let's just see what I can do! Shall not get my hopes up too high! XD

Here's a synopsis of Don't Look Back in case you are interested! :)

Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend.

Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it's one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took "mean girl" to a whole new level, and it's clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She's getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she's falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash.

But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night isn't just buried deep inside of Sam's memory-someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?

Alright, that's all for now! Have a fun time reading this weekend! Muacks!! XD

Jenny Han
Here's a synopsis of the books!

1.Anna and the French Kiss:
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

2. Lola and the Boy Next Door:
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion...she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit--more sparkly, more fun, more wild--the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighbourhood.

When Cricket--a gifted inventor--steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

3. To All The Boy I've Loved Before:
To All the Boys I've Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

This books are just like tempting me to go and immediately read all of them!! I just can't wait!
